What is skip tracing?

Skip tracing allows to find fresh contact information for a debtor by running known information through a public or private search engine. The best skip tracing software allows the user to run batch skip tracing and search a high volume of names at once. It is important to note, that typically in most jurisdictions a person must have a legal reason (right) to search for a person using such specialised services. That is why at SkipTraze we only work with creditors, collection agencies and private investigators.

What data can SkipTraze find?

In order to use SkipTraze services you must have the legal right to search (be a creditor, act on behalf one as a collection agency or be a licensed private investigator) and have the social security number of the individual (Poland PESEL, Spain DNI). SkipTraze then searches partner databases for a match with that social security number and can find:

Phone number

Email address

Address (Country, City, Street, House Number, Apartment, Postal code)

How much does it cost?

You only pay per successful data hit. A hit is defined as a single data point that is additional to your existing data.

So for example if you search for John Doe with a Social Security number and have 1 phone number, 1 email address, 1 physical address – but end up finding – 1 new phone number and 1 new email address. This would be considered as 2 successful hits.

This how we determine the freshness of any datapoint.
